It was a victorious clearance of hurdles for Kaalai. The producer of ‘Kalai’ had borrowed Rs.25 lakhs from Vijaya Pictures Vijaya. The loan was to be settled before the completion of ‘Kalai’, but it did not happen.
Vijaya filed a court case that the cheque given by producer S.S.Chakravarty has bounced back and requested for a stay order for the film.
The case came to court yesterday and was cleared based on the appeal by lawyer of S.S.Chakravarty that he will pay the half amount now and the rest later. Vijaya accepted this and Kaalai cleared its second hurdle.The first hurdle was cleared when Kaalai got a A certificate with the censor board. The movie got a A certificate of its violent theme.
